Dear Rachel,
Thank you for setting up this blog! I just wanted to add that the Roosevelt Island Marlins Swim Team holds classes at the Sportspark for children as young as 6 years old (who have graduated from the Learn-To-Swim Program at Westview) through high school. Practice takes place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5:30pm to 7pm and Saturday from 9:30am to 11am. The team participates in city-wide swim meets (a few kids swim for fitness only and don't compete.)

Hi Corrina, this is Karina (Charlotte, Juliette and William's mom)

Thanks so much for clarifying the Swim class rates – I had misunderstood them to be weekly rates not monthly rates so they are certainly still very reasonable. However, I noticed the classes are running only a half hour this season (5:00-5:30 for beginners and 5:30-6:00 for Intermediate/advanced). Weren't they 45 minutes long last season?

Hi Carina,
The class times are:
Beginners - 5:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Interm./Advanced - 5:30 to 6:30 pm

I believe that the 30 min. for the Beginners (mostly 4-year olds) is sufficient (I'm exhausted after 40 min. of swimming class myself).
Best,
Corinna
